Buchmann UK was founded in January 2000, after the original acquisition of Rodenstock's capital equipment business.
In May 2007, the company became a subsidiary part of Buchmann Optical Holdings, successfully integrating both the Weco and Briot edging and glazing systems into the company's portfolio. Briot, Weco and Rodenstock instrument products and services have been successfully distributed in the UK for literally decades and the brand names and products are well established.
Buchmann UK has always strived to bring the very highest quality products and services to our customer. 2009 was to be no exception as Buchmann UK secured the exclusive UK distributor rights to the unique Metrovision MONCV3 vision analyser and the innovative I NEED YOU ready reader range.
In July 2010, the merger between Buchmann Optical Holdings, incorporating Buchmann UK, and Luneau Technology Group, based in Chartres (France) was successfully completed. This merger gives birth to a new player in the world of ophthalmic optics.
In the UK, the most innovative equipment from the Luneau and Visionix ranges will be added to our already extensive range of products. The company's new dynamic structure and vast experience, along with a wide range of high-tech patented solutions, is the basis for further and future developments in the field of optometry.
